Wednesday Writing Prompt!

This week our focus is on dialogue. Dialogue can make or break your piece because it's often the best connection we have to many of our favorite characters.You only know, what they say. with that being said, if your dialogue is flat your characters will also come off as so. The best way to practice dialogue is to mimic conversations you were, follow their flows, the pauses and the imperfectness of human dialogue. Also dialogue changes drastically on the situation you are in, which is what today's writing prompts explores.

The phrase we are working with is: "I can't believe this is happening."

For the prompt you are to write TWO different scenes where this phrase appears. See how these phrases can take on a different meaning based on what's happening. Explore new emotions and dive into how these phrases can be said differently with the addition of punctuation, pauses ect. You can change the phrases slightly to make them flow with your scene but the overall premise should stay the same.
